“Our dive watch, which is water-resistant to a depth of 200 meters, takes its name from one of the last marvels of Venetian naval technology, the Nereide submarine. This timepiece is in fact designed to withstand strong stresses, making it particularly suitable for those who practice water sports. The new Nereide GMT Cielo features a captivating design with its turquoise dial, inspired by the changing colours of the sky. Created to capture the evolving colours of the horizon, it adds a sense of freshness and calmness to your wrist. GMT is the acronym for Greenwich Mean Time, which is the local time of the zero meridian of the homonymous London district. The GMT module consists of an additional hand, with an arrow-shaped tip, which completes one revolution every 24 hours. This allows you to keep track of a time zone other than the local time, already marked by the hour hand (which completes a cycle in 12 hours).”

CASEBACK: The finely engraved caseback celebrates the adoption (for the first time in 1884) of the 24 time zone system as a global reference time system based on Greenwich Mean Time. Around the representation of the terrestrial globe, the major cities of the world are shown next to their respective time zones. This way, you can set the time zone in the traditional way without needing your smartphone.

BEZEL: BK7 Crystal, 120 clicks. The bezel insert is made of BK7 optical crystal and adopts a particular mirror finish in the lower half, a unique feature of the GMT collection. This material has exceptional physical properties. It is lead free, lighter and is endowed with a better quality than other glass crystals. Its properties of low dispersion (with Abbe numbers around 60) and low refraction (≈1.52), combined with high clarity, make it perfect for creating high-precision and durable glass objects.
WR: 20ATM (= 200mt)
BRACELET: Canova, 20mm. Sixteen different molds are required to manufacture this bracelet, whose design has been registered. The double finish, both glossy and satin, echoes that of the case and makes the central links stand out, providing elegance and balance. The butterfly clasp does not break the continuity of the design thanks to a perfect integration with the final central link. Lug width is 18mm.
