Charles Gigandet Wakmann ‘Polaris’ Chronograph – Valjoux Cal. 7765

Out of stock

A lovely and not often seen example of a Charles Gigandet Wakmann “Polaris” vintage chronograph with a manual-wind Valjoux Cal. 7765. The rare ‘stepped’ case is in very good condition with no serious visible nicks or dings and measures 37mm or 40mm when counting the centre crown. The black dial is exquisite, with a tachymeter scale on the outside ring. The silver applied indices and dark orange/grey chronograph sundials make a wonderful contrast, along with the silver hands and orange centre seconds chronograph hand. The date window at 3h is seen through the cyclop eye of the original plexiglass. We have oiled and tested the watch and it is working very satisfactorily including all chronograph functions. it is fitted with a great quality brown calf leather rally-style strap. We have made many photos of the watch, including some close-up snapshots we took, just for fun. As with all the watches we inspect in-house here at Localtime, we offer a 6-month written warrantee from the date of purchase. Feel free to ask me any information that you might need.
