Professionally inspected and approved in-house here at the Localtime Spa, this is a nice and authentic example of a Breitling/Wakmann co-branding and the only documented Military Breitling watch for the USA.
Surprisingly, these “Navigational Stop” chronograph watches’ production was quite late for a pocket watch in military use [VS a wristwatch that is to say]. The original MIL [military] spec [specification] is from 1943 [supplied by Hamilton], adapted as MIL-W-5605 in 1950 [Breitling’s model reference is 605-A]; the MIL specs were again adapted in 1957. A scan of the original MIL specs is attached for informational purposes and also confirm the “AN” case marking as “Army-Navy”, making this watch used by both the US Army and US Navy [Army-Navy Aeronautical Standard].
As with all the watches we inspect and approve in-house here at the Localtime Spa, a 6-month warrantee from the date of purchase will be included. Feel free to ask us whatever clarification you might need.
