Professionally inspected inhouse by Localtime, this is a lovely example of an Omega Seamaster dress watch watch with Ref. SC 14744.3 in solid stainless steel. The case measures 35mm or 37mm including the logoed crown at 3h. It is an all original condition, unpolished and ready to wear or join your collection. Lovely white dial and silver hands and applied indices/logo, all come together to create a classy dress watch. The plexi glass has been changed to a brand new one. Serial Number #16716534 places its production around 1958-1959. It is wearing a lovely croc-grain calf leather strap in forest green that, in my humble opinion, fits the watch quite nicely. As with all the watches I handle at Localtime, the BIN price includes a 6-month written warranty from the date of purchase. Feel free to contact me for whatever questions you might have.
Important Note: Sometimes I am asked what I exactly mean with ‘professionally inspected by Localtime’. Here is my theory on vintage watches: as a purveyor of vintage watches, my effort is to always do only what is needed to the watch. I do not buy ‘junk’ watches to resell. I am choosy with my purchases and always sell watches that are, to my knowledge, authentic and in good condition. I first inspect the watch, both visually (cosmetically) and then mechanically. If I judge that the watch is not yet in need of a full service then I do not put the watch through a service which, by the way, entails a lot of risks too. Instead, I give it what I call my ‘Spa’ treatment which will include a cleaning, changing of gaskets, oiling, lubricating and mechanical testing. If the plexi is heavily scratched or discoloured and it can not be cleaned, I change it. If the crown is wrong or worn, I also change it. Now, if the watch is in need of a full service, then my ‘professionally inspected’ description becomes ‘professionally serviced’. In both cases, I include a written warrantee with my buy it now price and I always describe what I have changed, if anything, on the watch.
Important Note On Straps/Bracelets: The straps I use on my watches [leather, canvas, suede, rubber] are always brand new, unless otherwise mentioned and, in most cases, I also sell them separately in my store, in different colours and sizes. In the case of metal bracelets, if the watch is NOS, the bracelet is also unused. If the watch is pre-owned with its original bracelet, then the bracelet is also pre-owned, unless otherwise mentioned. Either way, if in doubt, please ask.
Extra: Try my Localtime Tropical silicone rubber straps: Let’s face it, we all wish we could have the vintage, original type, but they are nowhere to be found anymore. If you do find them, they are very expensive or dry and stiff if they were not properly kept all these years. Not to mention the fact that 22 & 24mm are really rare as hen teeth. I have found these straps to be a good alternative to their vintage cousins and very comfortable. They come in 4 sizes [18, 20, 22 and 24mm] and with 2 smooth, floating keepers. The straps themselves come in 9 different colours and have a nice tropic pattern on them. Only the black one is available in 24mm for now. Their length is 85mm on the buckle end [including the steel buckle] and 120mm on the tail end; so not short but not too long either. I will include a pair of good quality springbars too. These straps are available from my store, under eBay item number 202822346003. Feel free to contact me for whatever questions you might have.Share this watch:
