A truly stunning vintage watch, this 940’s Imperial [Interchron NY] Clamshell-Cased (Schmitz Frères & Co. SA) #86204 steel dress watch with AS Cal. 984, was professionally restored and fully serviced in-house here at the Localtime Spa.
The case has been lightly cleaned and the movement fully serviced. The dial and hands are a feast to the eyes. Beautiful, even patina, really what a vintage dress watch should look like. On its dial it is bearing the Cross Of Lorraine, the emblem used by the French Military. It is said that these watches were issued to celebrate the liberation of France, after the end of WW2. A stunning watch from that glorious period, this classic dress watch comes on a pig skin leather strap in brown that we think compliments the all original and beautiful dial patina and lovely hands/numerals, very nicely. We have made many photos of this beautiful timepiece, including some snapshots from the Spa bench and some macro close-up shots we took just for fun.
This is one of 3 Imperial watches we have just restored [you can see all of them together in one of the photos here and they are, of course all listed separately for sale. As with all the watches we restore and service in-house here at the Localtime Spa, this also comes with a 6-month written warrantee from the date of purchase. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
